Some days, I get some very odd emails. I am sure that you can relate! 🙂
There are some that are easily ignored, and some I can sit right down, write, laugh, then right out the door or to my delete/spam button.
“No thank you, I’m good on my Russian bride needs right now!”… (what really? email marketing for mail order brides?? does that make them email order brides…?)
ANYway!
Today I received an email for a job offer! Oh, yes! How exciting and yet I am
- a) unsure how I got on this persons headhunter list and
- b) not really sure it is a real person, although the email and correspondence (yes, I replied to test out if it was legit) seemed pretty “normal”.
Ya know, “normal” for unsolicited headhunter job offer emails… (nervous laugh!)
The JOB included a very physical description of what would be expected… sitting, standing, lifting 50 lbs. And responsibilities were varied and many! 30 bullet points to be exact! 30! that seems like a lot of work to me, a lot to manage and to know what to do, how to do it, and who to do it with customers, co-workers, managers, supervisors, etc. You get the point – it wasn’t a entry level job.
The COMPANY and LOCATION is a veritably well known employer in the metro area, and not anywhere close to my house – we are talking at least 60 minute drive on a good weather, every one on the road is happy and going the speed limit kinda day… My dream commute, I think not!
The PAY … lame. That’s it. I said it. Lame. I felt that it was a slap in the face for the people who are:
a) already performing this and similar jobs and
b) terrible that they presented it like it was a golden bowl with a golden goose in it! When in reality it was more like a napkin and a rubber duck…. (Yes, just confused myself with that visual also. 🙂 Follow along here… I have a point.
The POINT. There are so many employees out there that are unknowingly working for wages that are beneath their worth and they don’t know it. In my MLM business, we can choose when to give ourselves a raise, we just go out and get a few more customers. MLM is the only place that pays you more than once on a single sale… ask a car salesmen or a Realtor how many times they get paid on their sales… um, once! So just think, if you aren’t happy in your current position, with your current wages, or your current company…. YES it is hard, but there are OTHER OPTIONS out there for you. That WILL pay you what you are worth – what you decide you are worth and I can say without even talking with you, YOU my friend are WORTH more than you know.
