You might remember a time when you were sidetracked or stopped all together from speaking your truth to others.
Perhaps it was by your parents, boss, clergy or someone in an authoritative role in your life. From what I have seen, most people have the best intentions when they respond to us negatively or contrary to what we want to hear, and yet in some situations it halts us from saying what we truly mean.
This repeated over time or in different scenarios in life, can play a pivotal role in our psyche. For most people, it can slow us down or stop us from fully trusting our intuition. Intuition can encourage us to execute tasks which may be triggered from a meaningful connection or communication with others. Without these meaningful connections and communication, it can halt activities that bring our hopes and dreams alive.
An inability to communicate without fear can hold you back from asking for what you want and need from others.
A fundamental business skill, I see impacted by this lack of speaking your truth, is the ability to share your business or that of selling. Selling is a pivotal step in building business, when not done, it can be the downfall of a business.
Why do you suppose so many avoid selling? Is it a lack of trusting their own truth? Is it lack of worth? Even when avoiding this step takes them to the point of letting their business fail? How about missing out on getting that promotion or any kind of increased income? Time and time again I see it come up around the fear of having to hear that dreaded word – No. Or perhaps worse – no response at all. Rejection. We can fear not being valued – and let’s face it that can impact us to the core.
So how do we move past this fear?
Taking the time and energy to find the right people, who want to hear what you have to share from your unique perspective. Every yes is based on the concept of getting many more no’s along the way.
I’d like to recommend 2 books that provide more information on this:

We all need people in our life that we can communicate our desires, thoughts and ideas with. This is how we find our truth about who we are, and the interaction itself makes life richer and fuller from
having this unique and warm connection.
3 Steps to creating a communication style that works:
- Be authentic and truthful to your own needs as you care about theirs as well.
- Fully listen to what the other person(s) has to say.
- Enjoy the process of sharing who you are, once you create a connection: your ideas, products, or services.
Notice what negative “stuff” comes up for you during the process and where it might stem from.
Keep in mind those people who already love what you have to share – what characteristics do you have in common?
Did this blog help you? If so, it would mean a lot to me if you would share it with others!!! And, share your comments below!
Much Success!
Have an outstanding day!!

Simple, but great tips. Will pass this on to friends who are starting their businesses.
