I was a woman in corporate America for over 20 years. I knew I wanted to strike out and express my entrepreneurial talents but was afraid. I found that a must for me was certainty or security in my work. The day came when I said “enough”. That day was the day I believed in the possibility of network marketing and financial freedom. That day was the day I took charge of 3 limiting emotions.
3 Emotions That You Must Pay Attention To : Hope, Greed and Fear
Hope
I moved up the corporate ladder HOPING to feel the joy and fulfillment in my job requirements and from helping others grow. I realized that I was doing this inside a box. The corporation’s box. But, hope that I could change this kept me where I was. Hope sounds like a positive concept. It has the same quality as saying I am going to “try “ to do an action vs. I am doing that action. (Notice your language.)
Greed
I was very fortunate to have great mentors and supervisors. And this kept me attached even more. What more could I do and what more could open up where I was? I was sure financial freedom was just ahead in my job. Make a plan and work the plan was what I learned. If I wanted to be successfully self-employed
I needed a plan that would give me the financial freedom and vision I wanted for the future by building “MY” business.
Fear
The big one. If I leave what will happen? Can I ever be as successful on my own as I have been in the corporate environment? How do I pick the right place? How do I survive?
All the questions I asked myself to help me make the right choices were Gremlin questions (though I did not know it at the time.) These questions were meant to help me but what they did was keep me stuck in the status quo.
I was making a choice out of fear and not out of what I could see as success in the future.
Getting a handle on these 3 emotions will change your life. When you see yourself going into Hope, Fear or Greed, notice what you are focusing on. Are you building walls around your future or paving a road to success?
What emotions have been your biggest hurdle to jump over or around?
Much Success in Networking Marketing!!
Have an outstanding day!
