When you look at Corporate America it is pretty clear on how the organization is structured.
A Corporate Organization: The President has Vice Presidents who have Directors. Directors have Managers and Managers have employees.
So then when we look at network marketing, how does the organizational structure work there? Generally there is a corporate office comprised of corporate management, production, accounting and customer support staff. On the flip side of that same coin is the Independent Reps and Leaders in the field. This is where you most likely fall.
In our industry, you have upline (your direct line of sponsorship), cross-line, top ranked representatives who help everyone and downline (your team), and your customers.
It is my hope that your compensation plan outlines with a clear direction on how to make up money by maximizing the compensation plan and how to set up your team. It is my advice that you ask your sponsor what is most important for you to know.
In my experience with network marketing, you should find out if you are uni-level, if you have 2 legs, do you have a placement system in place and do you know when to place people, or do you have a coded system? Do you have a matrix, or a forced matrix? Coding bonuses?
Knowing how to set up your team will help you maximize your compensation plan in the quickest way possible. Many companies use a 3 by 3 matrix, where you recruit 3, who each recruit 3, who recruit 3.
In my opinion, learning how to get started making money quickly is one of the best things you can do and one of the best things you can teach and help your team do.
When you look at your organization, do you welcome new people, encourage and teach your team to do this, have weekly conference calls, promote weekly/monthly events, have parties, do trade shows, do group meetings or one-on-one appointments? There are a ton of ways for you to build your business.
I think this is what throws most people – they are in charge of their organization.
If you haven’t been at the top of a company in a leadership role, you may not know how this looks and for those of you who have, running a network marketing organization is much different than leading an organization or business firm.
The ultimate goal is to make money, teach others to make money resulting in time freedom to do what you want, with whom you want, when you want.
Knowing some key things about your company’s structure will help you get this done in the quickest manner possible.
