Ready for me to get real honest with you right now??? …. Sometimes, I have difficulty picking up the phone to make business calls. Ugh, right, I know – I feel like this, this far into my business and with the fabulous relationships I have been able to build over the years because of my business, I shouldn’t have this feeling anymore. But I do! Do you?? Do you ever have that moment? The ugh I don’t want to, I will do it later, I know I’m bothering them, they don’t want to hear what I have to offer, they probably don’t even like me, I think it’s best I never talk to or show my face to them again moment…. ? Our negative talk about if people want to hear from us can escalate quickly!!! Right!??

So one way that I have found to fight back and beat down my negative feelings toward making these oh so essential business calls is…. wait for it…. change the way I set up the call back. It’s a simple and duh! moment kind of thought, but it really can work wonders.

Instead of the, “I’ll call you someday, sometime” approach what if you set the appointment for them to know when you are going to reach out to them?

Try the “I’ll call you next week”, it is better because then they know when to expect you to get back in front of them! And the “I will call you on Thursday afternoon”, is even better!!!

And then, when you make that call they will know you are a serious business person who they can trust to do what they say they will do and who is ready to talk business. This also works nicely when you haven’t talked with friends for a while!!! Don’t say, yes let’s get together someday soon… say, hey what are you doing 6 months from now on a Tuesday…. make the appointment and you are more likely to carry through the action!!

Is it time you change how you make your followups?

Do you have other tricks that work for you?

Much Success!!

Have an outstanding day!!!
