90% of Success is Mindset!
Mindset is a huge portion of success. What is the other 10%? Luck most likely. So that being the case, you are in total control of your success by following up.
I know you have heard people say they do not want to join the network marketing industry because “I am not a Salesperson”. Building a network marketing business is not sales. You simply share what you have and follow up, follow up, follow up, follow up, have another reason to follow up and follow up until they say yes. More no’s are simply a just not now. I guarantee if you have a product or service that can improve someone’s life, they will need you at some point in time. Your job then is to stay in touch. (read The Ultimate Sales Machine by Chet Holmes page 64.)
Let’s look at the facts:
- 48% of salespeople never follow up with a prospect
- 25% of sales people make a second contact and stop
- 12% of sales people only make three contacts and stop
- 10% of sales people make more than three contacts
- 2% of sales are made on the first contact
- 3% of sales are made on the second contact
- 5% of sales are made on the third contact
- 10% of sales are made on the fourth contact
- 80% of sales are made on the fifth to twelfth contact
So now that we have the numbers, let’s do the math. I am 100% sure that if you share and follow-up 8 to 12 times per prospect, you’ll be successful. It is not about being perfect. It is providing value, believing what you represent and never giving up on your dreams and goals.
