Most people love an easy cut follow up plan.
But let’s face it, the reality is, it may not look so perfect.
I have been building network marketing for years. In theory, it seems simple.
You build rapport.
Ask if you can share.
Share.
Follow up.
Close.
Celebrate your new customer or team builder.
Train.
Repeat.
However, the missing piece of this puzzle is the human factor.
Some of your prospects will not be ready, have objections, need to get questions answered or simply, it may not be time.
You might be wondering, so how do you follow up with ease?
I recommend keeping FOUR master lists (these can be digital or manual depending on your preference and computer skills). Don’t worry about making the lists be perfect. All you really need is their name, phone and email (if they still communicate via email)
Have:
- One list of people you want to talk to about your service or product.
- A second list of people you have shown.
- Third, a list of customers.
- An ongoing list of business builders.
The goal is to move them from potential to prospect to customer to business builder.
Check the list often and the goal is to build a relationship with the person and move them to their next step in the journey. This will be different for all four lists.
This is where you need to spend some time, thinking about what are some of the “next steps” you can take.
- Put them on your email list
- Put their number in your phone
- Schedule a meeting
- Call again
- Get information
- Goal setting
- Dream building
- Send an article of interest
- Text message
- Three way call
- Send a gift of some sort
- Etc.
