Finding a follow up system that works for a group of people is tricky. Why is that? Well it is because, finding the perfect follow up system that works extremely well for an individual is difficult.

Part of the reason for this is we live in a technology based world with so many ways to connect. There is Facebook, Linkedin, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, other social media groups and boards, snapchat, Instagram, landline, cell phone, voicemail, text, inbox messaging, email, printed papers, newspaper, flyers, business cards, letter, notes, greeting cards, gifting services, etc.

All of this can be very overwhelming as there is a million places to look for how others can communicate with you. It is a fact we are all on the go.

When looking at a follow up system, you must personally decide if you want a paper or an electronic system. I used to be a paper person ALL the way. I have clients on notecard, notebooks of instructions, etc. It wasn’t until I was challenged to think outside the box by my Virtual Assistant that much of what we do can be systematized and streamlined.

Her office runs almost paperless. Their calendars are all electronic so that they can share calendars and appointments with each other easily. They use a service called Slack to do interoffice communications and they have an “electronic” to do list, kind of like a digital whiteboard so everyone on the team can “SEE” what is going on.

The downfall of this electronic system is that if the internet goes down, so does her to do list unless she has printed it. But even then, a printed list with no internet really does her no good.

Then there are the people that run around with notebooks, 3×5 index cards (1 to 31 card system), sticky notes and paper planners the size of a football. They are cumbersome to carry but there is something proven about writing stuff down and how it helps you remember it.

All of this is to say, there is no perfect follow up system. My advice is to pick one, electronic or paper and use it for 365 days. Yep, 365 days! You can not switch systems for a year. What this does is take away the busyness of trying to have the right system and actually use the one that is before you. This is when you’ll be able to track your results, number of times you have followed up and in turn be super productive and successful.

Tell us, what are you using now? What do you like about it? What do you not like about it? Let’s help each other to be more productive and effective because…….Success Is In The Follow-Up!!!!

Much Success!

Have an outstanding day!!
