When Your Team Isn’t Growing…Look Inward to Determine the Cause
There can be a few reasons why a team isn’t growing
and most of them involve looking inward.
The tendency is to look at the team; to look at others
and want to point a finger in their direction and wonder
why they aren’t doing what they “should” be doing….
But, leadership starts at the top, so true leadership
means looking at oneself for clues and answers.
First, are you taking the daily and weekly action
steps needed to lead and grow a team?
Remember, people will do what YOU do, not
what you say. Make sure you are leading by the
proper example.
Then, take a look at your message.
Is it consistent? Does it waver? Is it easy to
understand?
Or, is there the “flavor of the week” syndrome?
Jumping from one idea to the next, confusing the
team as the message gets watered down?
Pick your focus, and develop your message around that.
Stay consistent in delivering the core action steps
that are needed day in, and day out.
Be in action yourself so your team sees you.
The leaders you need to move the mission
forward will begin to show up.
Have an outstanding day!
MUCH SUCCESS,
Sara
