Vince Lombardi said it best, “Winning is not a sometime thing; it’s an all time thing.”
You don’t win once in awhile, you don’t do things right once in awhile, you do them right all the time. Winning is a habit. Unfortunately, so is losing!
Win! Let’s dissect this a bit as I know some of you reading this are thinking, “No one can be a winner all the time.
Take note of the following things:
- What are 3 successes that you have experienced?
- Why did you consider them wins?
There are a few things, I’d encourage you to do to help your mind set up an environment of winning.
- Write or rewrite your rule defining winning. Make your rules supportive and powerful.
- Make it easy to win. Look for wins everyday.
- What has to happen for you to win?
- How can you make it easier to win?
- How can you intentionally win?
- How do you celebrate wins?
This are deep and meaningful questions. Winning is a mindset and a perspective. Still can’t wrap your brain around winning as a mindset?
Think of the most successful people you know. Not people you know of, but people you know. If you called them, they would know who you are.
- List out the traits that make them have a winning mindset.
- Evaluate what they have that you do not.
- Is this something you can learn, obtain, be?
- Consider asking them to mentor you.
Do something every day that will set yourself up for a win, recognize and celebrate it. This in turn trains your brain for success – a winning mindset. You don’t have to conquer the world every day but you should win daily.
